Istanbul Takes Major Steps Against Noise Pollution

With its rapidly growing population and heavy traffic, Istanbul continues to take significant steps to combat noise pollution. In this regard, the Noise Barrier Project, implemented by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), aims to improve the overall quality of life across the city.

Project Objectives and Scope

This project was designed to reduce noise levels, particularly in areas with highway, ring road, and heavy vehicle traffic. Under the leadership of Project Director Uğur Çalışkol, the initiative utilizes modern and eco-friendly noise barriers to minimize the impact of traffic noise.
